Geographic Information System
GIS is a spatial analysis tool used for project development, public involvement, and planning. SRTA, Shasta College, and the Far North Regional GIS Council partner to maintain the regional GIS platform on NorthStateGIS.
Travel Demand Modeling
SRTA develops and maintains the regional travel demand model, forecasting land use and travel behavior at least 20 years into the future to support planning and programming across the region.
Regional Projects
SB-1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, returns $2.50 in funding for every $1 spent at the pump in the Shasta Region — an average of over $63 million annually in new transportation money.
Regional Housing Need Allocation (RHNA)
State law requires cities and counties to plan for enough housing to meet future population growth. RHNA projects the number of housing units needed across all income levels for the Shasta region.

The AFLEET Tool 2023 was developed to help the Clean Cities Coalition Network estimate energy use, emissions, and cost of ownership of alternative fuel vehicles. AFLEET Online has been redesigned and now includes Payback On-Road, Payback Off-Road, and TCO calculators.
