2016 Digital Orthoimagery Collection Project

Notice of a Request for Proposal The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) in conjunction with the cities of Redding, Shasta Lake, and Anderson; the McConnell Foundation; and the Western Shasta Resource Conservation District will be soliciting proposals from firms qualified to collect digital orthoimagery in early 2016. The request for proposals (RFP) will be released on January 18, 2016 and proposals must be submitted electronically via email or website by 5:00 PM on February 8, 2016. The RFP will be released on SRTA’s website. There will not be a pre-proposal conference. Project Overview SRTA and other agencies participated in an orthoimagery collection project in 2010 that resulted in 6″ digital orthoimagery that forms the current base imagery for agencies and jurisdictions in the Redding region. The intent of the project is to collect imagery of a quality that would align with the imagery from the 2010 project. The project participants use digital imagery within computerized mapping systems such as Esri ArcGIS desktop and web server software and AutoDesk AutoCAD map drafting software on desktop and server systems. Project Location The project area covers the urban area of Shasta County. The project area extends approximately from the southern boundary of the community of Cottonwood northward to Shasta Dam, and from Redding’s Buckeye Treatment Plant on the west to the east side of Anderson. The project area is approximately 180 square miles.
