7 10 Proposed Changes SRTA Conflict of Interest Code 093026 BOD

The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) is proposing changes to its Conflict of Interest policy to comply with updates from Senate Bill 852, effective January 1, 2026. This bill requires certain officials to file a Form 700 with the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) instead of the local agency. SRTA’s executive director and chief fiscal officer now fall under this requirement. The proposed changes also aim to clarify and align the policy with applicable regulations. The Fiscal & Policy Committee reviewed the changes and supports the staff recommendation. There is no fiscal impact from these changes. The board of directors can approve the changes, request more information, or delay the decision to the next meeting. SRTA will work with the FPPC and Shasta County Clerk to implement the changes once approved.
