Draft Transit Needs Assessment for 2026/27

Draft Transit Needs Assessment for 2026/27

The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) has released the draft Transit Needs Assessment for fiscal year 2026/27 and is requesting public input on unmet transit needs across the Shasta Region. The assessment is part of SRTA’s annual responsibility under the Transportation Development Act to identify gaps in public transportation before transit funds are allocated.

Review period

The draft document is available for public review through May 18, 2026. We encourage residents, transit riders, and community organizations to read the draft and share whether existing services meet the needs of the people who depend on them.

Public hearing

A public hearing will be held before the SRTA Board to receive testimony on unmet transit needs. Written comments may be submitted any time during the review period, and verbal comments will be accepted at the hearing. All input received becomes part of the official record and informs the Board’s findings.
