FTA Section 5339 provides capital funding to replace, rehabilitate and purchase buses and related equipment and to construct bus-related facilities. Caltrans Division of Local Assistance administers a small urban (population 50,000 to 199,999) formula component that distributed funds to the Redding urban area. Eligible sub-recipients include public agencies and private nonprofit organizations engaged in public transportation.
