Overview
The SSTAC is an advisory council appointed by SRTA to make transit-related recommendations, and is comprised of representatives from various user groups, like transit users, social services agencies providing transit for users or requiring transit services for its clientele, as well as group or individuals advocating walking/bicycling connections to transit. The SSTAC meets at least twice per year to provide recommendations to SRTA on “unmet transit needs that are reasonable to meet” and other transit coordination issues. SSTAC meetings are scheduled for mid-January and mid-April of each year but can be more frequent or change as the Council deems necessary. In recent history the SSTAC has met between two and six times per year, with crucial meetings in the spring of each calendar year related to the Transit Needs Assessment.
How Join the SSTAC
We are currently recruiting for new SSTAC members! Prospective SSTAC members are encouraged to fill out the SSTAC Member Application and submit to SRTA by December 1, 2024. Applications will be reviewed and scored by SRTA staff and approved by the SRTA Board of Directors on December 19, 2024. Approved members will be notified and will be welcomed to their role as an SSTAC member, at the January 15, 2025, SSTAC meeting. The SSTAC bylaws are also available so current and prospective members may review the governing rules and guidelines the SSTAC adheres to.
