Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) meetings are open to voting members and non-voting members of the public. The demographic make-up of the nine SSTAC voting members must adhere to the SSTAC bylaws:
- One representative of potential transit users 60 years of age or older
- One representative of potential transit users who is disabled.
- Two representatives of the local social service providers for seniors, including one representative of a social service transportation provider.
- Two representatives of local social service providers for the disabled, including one representative of a social service transportation provider.
- One representative of a local social service provider for persons of limited means.
- Two representatives from the local consolidated transportation service agency, including one representative from an operator.

How you can make a difference
Even as a non-voting member interested in transit your participation at SSTAC meetings is valued and encouraged. At SSTAC meetings we often discuss unmet transit needs, which may beg the question, “what is an unmet transit need”?
Distinguishing between an unmet transit need and other transit issues can sometimes be confusing. The table below presents a variety of concerns frequently raised during the unmet transit needs process. The examples, for which SRTA is responsible, represent unmet transit needs. For a formal definition of “unmet transit needs” and when they are “reasonable to meet,” please read SRTA’s board of directors resolution 16-14.
